The primary goal of this field day is to provide participants with hand-on installer based training on commonly employed erosion and sediment control practices in both horizontal and vertical construction with hands-on field demonstrations. The field instructional session will be held at the Auburn University - Stormwater Research Facility and provide attendees with a hands-on opportunity to: (1) learn proper installation techniques on various erosion and sediment controls to achieve improved performance,  and (2) observe full-scale, channelized flow testing demonstrations.

By sharing knowledge gained through research, industry participants will be better prepared to achieve environmental compliance. In addition, participants will gain knowledge on implementation tools and installation techniques to provide efficient and effective erosion and sediment controls on construction sites. This seminar should be of interest to contractors, engineers, project managers, superintendents, state, county and municipal agency personnel, and consultants.

This 1.5 day event will focus on providing classroom and hands-on training geared for participants involved in the installation of construction site erosion and sediment control practices. A half-day classroom component will be held at Auburn University's Main Campus and will cover a wide variety of topics that will be reinforced with field installations during the full day field component. The field component will be held at the Auburn University - Stormwater Research Facility and will include trainee participation to install erosion and sediment control practices in a typical field setting and will include channelized flow demonstrations to show the effectiveness of properly installed practices. Participants will gain knowledge in governing compliance regulations, leadership tactics, and hands-on installation and implementation tools to provide efficient and effective erosion and sediment controls.
