In The Garden With Cyndi

In The Garden With Cyndi is a fun, casual gardening class for adults where you get to learn tips and tricks, get your hands dirty, and get expert advice on a myriad of gardening techniques and best practices.

Cyndi believes that gardening should be all about the enjoyment of your gardens. So, in this workshop series, it is through fun and interesting lessons that her classes will teach you everything you need to know to install and maintain beautiful gardens that you love.

You have probably already encountered Cyndi Czerkawski somewhere around Auburn! Cyndi has been developing the gardens for Auburn City Schools for over 12 years. She designed and implemented the plant materials at the Auburn Public Library. And Cyndi worked for years at the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center as a naturalist and educator.

Before arriving in Alabama, Cyndi served her community as a rehabilitation therapist specializing in horticulture activities. She lead patients in developing butterfly gardens and other therapeutic horticultural programs.

Cyndi has always had a love and passion for gardening, and for spreading that passion to the people around her. Now, Cyndi is sharing her extensive experience with the community through In The Garden With Cyndi.

March: Beginner Gardening

April: “What smells so good?”

Sat, Apr 20, 1 – 3 PM

Learn about perennials, annual, and how to plant for a fragrance garden. Participants will receive an herb to plan in their gardens.

May: Creating a Pollinator Garden

Sat, May 18, 1 – 3 PM

Learn about plants that attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Participants will receive a hummingbird feeder.

June: Taking Thyme to Enjoy the Garden

Sat, Jun 15, 1 – 3 PM

Learn about the healing aspects, culinary delights, and peacefulness of herbs.

August: Come to a Garden Party

Sat, Aug 24, 1 – 3 PM

Join us as we prepare and enjoy delicious foods from our garden using open-fire cooking techniques.

September: Whimsical Gardens

Sat, Sep 21, 1 – 3 PM

Learn how to enhance your landscape by adding ferns for the “fairy folks,” sunflowers to create a playhouse, and a recycled art garden. Participants will create a dish garden.

October: Farm to Table

Sat, Oct 19, 12 – 2 PM

Participants will harvest, prepare, and eat foods from the garden; and enjoy an entree prepared over the fire.

November: Farm to Table

Sat, Nov 16, 12 – 2 PM

Participants will harvest, prepare, and eat foods from the garden; and enjoy an entree prepared over the fire.

December: Wreath Making Workshop

Sat, Dec 14, 1 – 3 PM

Fresh greenery, wreath, and adornments will be provided to create an individualized door decoration.


Pre-registration is recommended, but tickets will also be sold at the workshop. In The Garden with Cyndi is $20 per person. Participants must be 16 years of age or older, anyone under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an adult.
